The social responsibility management system of OPTOTECH was established in accordance with the Code of Conduct of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) and the SA8000 Standard of Social Accountability International. It encompasses labor, health, safety, environment, and ethical requirements. The operations of the management system reduce management risks and fulfills related requirements for corporate social responsibilities. We are committed to continuous improvement to create harmonious labor relations and provide a good working environment:

Labor policy

As a professional manufacturing service provider in the optoelectronic semiconductor industry, OPTOTECH derived its human resources ideals from traits and ideals that characterize OPTOTECH employees – integrity, practicality, friendliness and open-mindedness. We also uphold the spirit of RBA and SA8000 and fulfills corporate social responsibilities to protect all human rights of all employees to meet international standards. We provide a safe working environment and treat each employee with fairness and equity. The Labor Policy is as follows:

Ban on child labor

We adopt a zero-tolerance policy on child labor and we are committed to local laws and regulations on minimum age requirements. We do not hire child labor. In addition, we also do not accept the use of child labor by any supplier or contractor.

Freedom of association

We respect and protect employees' freedom of association and right to collective bargaining. We also established effective communication channels.

Non-discrimination/ Non-Harassment

We prohibit discrimination based on the race, skin color, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, race or ethnicity, disability, pregnancy, religious beliefs, political affiliation, union membership, veteran status, protected genetic information or marital status; All employees enjoy equal development opportunities in hiring, performance evaluation, salary, opportunities for training, and promotion. We cooperate with suppliers that comply with the aforementioned principles and apply the same rules to employee recruitment.Workers shall be provided with reasonable accommodation for religious practices. In addition, workers or potential workers should not be subjected to medical tests or physical exams that could be used in a discriminatory way, including pregnancy or virginity tests.

Humane treatment

We prohibit abuse, inhuman treatment and or any form of harassment against employees, including any form of sexual violence, sexual harassment, abuse, corporal punishment, mental or physical pressure, bullying, public humiliation and verbal abuse; we also prohibit threats of using such actions. Related disciplinary policies and procedures shall be clearly defined and communicated to employees.

Ban on forced labor

We respect the awareness of labor rights and prohibit any form of forced labor. The employment relationship is established with written labor contracts signed by the two parties based on their agreement. Employees have the right to leave their jobs with reasonable notice and we ensure all employment conditions are voluntary. We do not accept the use of forced labor by any supplier or contractor.

Labor-management negotiation

We provide open and smooth communication channels between employees and the management and we provide education on company policies, systems, benefits, and operating procedures for various activities. We provide feedback and assistance to employee feedback to maintain harmonious labor/management relations.

Salary and benefits

We provide salaries and benefits that meet or exceed requirements in local regulations including a minimum wage, paid leave, and mandatory benefits to satisfy employees' basic needs. In addition, we also prohibit the use of salary deduction as disciplinary penalties.

Reasonable work hours

We established clear and reasonable work hour management mechanisms that meet regulatory requirements. We care about and manage employees' attendance and we adopt reasonable management and arrangements for employees' work time, break time, and leaves.
