Shanghai World Expo –
the Taiwan Pavilion:

The sky lantern-shaped exterior symbolizes “hopes” and “prayers” towards the future. The LED display surrounding “The Heart of Taiwan” is a creation of Opto Tech Corporation (OPTOTECH), part of the Taiwan Pavilion construction team. OPTOTECH, with 27 years of experience, appointed our top R&D team to tackle the technically-demanding design. The design is demanding for four reasons. First of all, the Heart of Taiwan measures 16 meters in diameter, and weighs up to 130 tons. The exterior display has to be lightweight to prevent damage to the design, and flexible enough to mold to the shape of the globe. OPTOTECH employed eight different kinds of weight- and flexibility-appropriate LEDs, tens of thousands of point contacts and various settings all over the surface of the globe to achieve this result. Secondly, the multiple displays must be able to display synchronized as well as independent images. OPTOTECH’s controller centralizes the synchronization and individual display controls in a single server, effectively simplifying the process.

Shanghai Famos Square Glass :

OPTOTECH's 60mm dot pitch LED products are used to build the LED screen of Shanghai Famos Square. Light tubes are embedded in the glass curtain wall of the main building of the shopping center.
The danger and disorderliness of conventional overhead signs are things of the past. The integration of LED tubes and a glass curtain wall also retains light transmittance. The control system can play video, show images or even display a live broadcast.
It is also capable of keeping time, detecting environmental changes and automatically adjusting the luminosity of the light tubes.The advanced design of this glass curtain wall not only sets an example of orderly urban appearance and safety improvement-it turns the shopping center into a visual attraction after dark.

International Trade Building,
Taipei :

Together with the World Trade Center Exhibition Hall, Taipei Grand Hyatt Hotel, the International Trade Building which is located in Taipei's upmarket Hsinyi District, sits a dazzling cluster of trade and office buildings . The building is comprised of 34 levels and 3 basement levels. Its walls are decorated with 640 color LED tubes of varying length. A lighting display is generated using the LED tubes through special lighting design, thus adding a little more charm to Taipei’s cityscape at night.

Taipei Arena :

Taipei Arena – Taiwan's first multi-functional indoor sports stadium was completed in 2005 under the aegis of the Taipei City Government amid great anticipation. The stadium boasts a total area of 2000 square meters. An LED display screen curtain customized by OPTOTECH is installed on the outer wall of the Arena. The strong visual impact produced by the special 60mm-pitch indoor LED tubes enables the Arena to stand out on the busy Nanking East Road and Tun-Hwa North Road junction.

Hsinchu Science Park :

Hsinchu Science Park is one the world’s best-known regions for the semi-conductor industry. It is also a major pillar of Taiwan's economic prowess. It is where OPTOTECH has made its name. At the Science Park’s entrance , OPTOTECH’s LED pillars extend alongside the busy traffic. The ever-changing lights which put on a dazzling display at night proudly announce to business visitors the pride of Taiwan.

De’an Phase 8 :

A building is capable of taking on a different character at night, owing to its lighting effect. The De’an Phase 8 project located by the side of No. 5 Turnpike of Hsinchu Expressway is jointly designed by OPTOTECH and Ceve Co. OPTOTECH’s IRISin Streamer product is installed on the steel frame structure on both sides of the building; Through an interchanging lighting display, the building is turned into a work of art which attracts the attention of passers-by.

Beijing Shin Kong Place :

An RMB 12 billion investment by the Shin Kong Group To create Beijing’s grandest shopping mall, opened amidst much fanfare in April 2007. Shin Kong Place has since become a well-known landmark in Beijing; A place which houses countless flagship stores for international brands. In all, 938 of the world’s best-known brands are found in Shin Kong Place. OPTOTECH's large IRISin String display screen on the shopping center’s glass wall is the focal point for shoppers. It is also a major area in which brand advertisers vie for exposure.

Golden Melody Awards :

The lighting and sound effect of a stage is key to the success of a concert. Top Increasing Technology, a renowned stage engineering design company in Taiwan has decided to partner with OPTOTECH, using our Maxx indoor products to generate multiple light staging combinations for numerous concerts and major stage events, including the 2007 Golden Melody Award and celebrity concerts, etc.
